Platforms like Upwork and Toptal give you access to individuals. We give you an embedded product team: senior architect, product coordination, and senior engineers working as a unit. We handle coordination, QA, and delivery, not just coding, and the core team has worked together for over ten years, so there is no ramp-up. If you need a freelancer for a task, use Upwork. If you need a team to own a product, talk to us.

Flexibility is built into how we work. Scale up: We can add senior resources within 2-4 weeks. Scale down: Step down to a lighter engagement or pause with 30 days notice. Pivot: If your needs change mid-engagement, we adapt with you. No long-term lock-ins. No penalties for changing direction.

We specialize in complex software development including marketplace platforms, SaaS applications, mobile apps, process automation systems, AI features built into live products (such as the AI property valuation and AI-written listings on LISTD), and legacy system modernization. Our sweet spot is projects that require senior-level expertise and architectural thinking.

We start with an intro call with Dan to understand your situation and assess fit. If there's a match, we move into a paid Deep Dive to define requirements, architecture, and team shape. Then a dedicated senior team works with you on a monthly retainer, with regular updates, clear communication, and knowledge transfer as we go.

You do not need to pick the stack. We choose proven tools, explain the trade-offs in plain terms, and you own everything. We pick the stack your product needs, not the one we would rather sell. The calls that matter most are the ones we write about in our insights: how far Postgres and PostGIS carry listings and map search, when a dedicated search engine such as OpenSearch or Typesense is worth running, and where a Redis cache in front of hot read paths earns its place. LISTD, the live property platform we built and still work on, runs on Next.js, a TypeScript API, PostgreSQL and OpenAI. We use AI tools every day as leverage for senior engineers, not as a substitute for them, and we are happy to go into specifics on the call.

Every engagement starts with an intro call with Dan, then a paid Deep Dive of one to two weeks that produces the spec, architecture, roadmap, and team shape. The Deep Dive is fixed-price, scoped and quoted after the intro call. After that, a dedicated senior team works with you on a monthly retainer with no fixed end date.

Yes, if you want us to. The retainer has no fixed end date, so the same team can keep building and provide full post-launch support, covering hosting, monitoring, maintenance and incident handling. If you would rather take the product in-house, we hand over all IP and know-how as set out in our agreement with you, provided someone on your side is available to receive it.

Only by exception. Engagements run as a monthly cash retainer. In unique situations we will consider taking part of our fee in equity, decided case by case. If you think yours is one, raise it on the intro call.
